Bread Line

There’s a funny phrase in Brazil that says: “Who are you in the Bread Line?” which means: “Who do you think you are?” If you want to practice some portuguese … this is how we say it: “Quem é você na feira do pão?”

You know.. In Brazil they have a lot of bakeries that provide fresh bread. So if you need to jump in the line every morning to get fresh bread, It doesn’t matter if you are either a lawyer, a doctor, a pastor, a priest … because … if you are in that line to buy bread, you are no one. I mean … you are literally like a regular nice person … that wants to buy bread … and nothing else.

So … I was about to have my books autographed by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn tonight and while I was still in line … I was having these thoughts, you know.

“Who am I in the bread line?”

I looked at the people ministering over the week at this conference and a bunch of big names. I started thinking about my community that I’m involved with today. It’s a very handful of people that actually appreciate my content. The majority comes to my social media platforms and they look over my materials and don’t say a word lol Don’t like anything, don’t share… nothing. I sometimes think this happens because I’m neither an American born in the states or slavic. I’ve been observing this a lot lately. I’m no way wrong with my assumption. This region needs a serious revival regarding culture.

In the meanwhile, I have countless pastors and leaders and families in Brazil that want me to move back there to be with them. I’m not gonna lie .. this is very tempting.

But I’ve chosen to obey God. God never told me to do that .. so I won’t do it. The only thing that holds me to Oregon is my wife. She is the only reason why we are all here now.

So …. I’m pretty much screwed to develop a ministry whatsoever around here. The majority just accept each other. ….. 11 years living here … and still feeling unwelcome.

I think I killed my ministry …. dang it.

While in line I was thinking … “Well … If I’m really nothing here in the bread line … why do I have so many famous people following me on Instagram? Famous people from Brazil and also from the States. They probably saw something right? “ Then, I looked back at that banner with all those big names and I was like … “I better off just start preparing my kids to have every single promise of God that was meant to be mine regarding ministry. If nothing came through me … and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to come … I’ll be happy to see my children thriving with promises that were mine. As long as I live here in this region, I won’t be able to do anything .. it doesn’t seem like I’ll move anywhere at this point anyways. My wife feels attached to this region and God so far didn’t tell me anything regarding moving out here … …. Well .. at least I’m happy that my businesses are working out …. =/ … at least I will make a lot of money and invest in those that are already working for God with their ministries … This will make me very happy :) ”

Then … while thinking .. I was excited to know that It was my turn now to get my books signed by Rabbi Jonathan. He looked at me and asked for my name and we started chatting. “Oh so you’re jewish too yeah?”- He said. “Yes sir, and also Brazilian!” - I said. “OLA TUDO BEM? COMO VOCE ESTA?” - he said. I was like .. “Do you speak portuguese? …. how?” and he went like: “My wife is Brazilian!!” Then we laughed together and we took this photo:

Right after leaving that table, I went to talk to the coordinator of the event, which happens to be my friend. He is a very well known and successful pastor and doctor in this region. He’s connected to pretty much all those big names. He came to me and said: “When are you going to take me to Brazil?! I’m still waiting for you! You never got back to me! LET’S GO!”.

Then he shared this: “you know what … Rabbi Jonathan Cahn is the bigger name! We should have promoted Rabbi Jonathan much rather than …. “mister buga buga” (not gonna say the real name of this fella)… he was referring to an evangelist that was being promoted like … he was the god of evangelism.

At that moment, when he said that … I discovered one thing … I discovered that whatever I say … has a heavy weight.

At the beginning of the week, I received a phone call from this event I’m attending where they were promoting a random evangelist over Rabbi Jonathan. Like .. over promoting, you know?

I don’t know how these systems work when ministries call you on a recorded line. But I remember I said this out loud, while listening to the recording over the phone: “SERIOUSLY?! YOU GUYS ARE PROMOTING MISTER BUGA BUGA OVER RABBI JONATHAN CAHN! YOU GUYS GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!! JONATHAN CAHN IS THE BIGGER NAME AT THIS POINT! RABBI LITERALLY WENT TO THE CAPITOL HILL MULTIPLE TIMES! THIS ALREADY SPEAKS VOLUMES! COME ON Y’ALL! YOU GUYS GET A LIFE!' and that’s it. I listened to the whole recording and hung up.

When my friend told me about his personal revelation on how he discovered that Rabbi Jonathan deserved a better projection for this event, I just knew he was talking about me.

In this life my friends … here is the thing … we have seasons. While you’re still in the cave … real giants will discern your value and will highly estimate you, even though they know you have no name whatsoever. Because for them, You already are a big name. They know it’s just a matter of time. They will want to keep you near. They know you will become great.

The mediocre won’t.
